20g Untamed Feast Morels
1/2 cup water
2 TBSP of butter or olive oil
1/2 cup diced onion
2 cloves fresh garlic, diced
250g of cream cheese, sour cream, or other spreadable cheese
¼ tsp Salt and pinch pepper
optional: 1/4 cup crisp, diced bacon is a nice addition to this spread. Simply mix in with other ingredients.
1. Soak mushrooms in 1/2 cup water for 10-20 minutes. Turning them every few minutes for equal rehydration.
2. Remove morels from soaking water, squeeze them gently, and dice finely. Save the water.
3. Fry onion and garlic in oil until golden. Add mushrooms and their soaking water. Sauté until most of the liquid is gone, be careful not to burn.
4. Remove from stove and let cool. Add to 250g spreadable cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta, or tofu spread. Blend well and refrigerate until firm.
Serve as an appetizer over fresh slices of baguette or crackers.
