True wild rice takes a long time to cook, but it's easy, you can peak and taste test. It also reheats really well so make extra and keep it in the fridge. Great for breakfast with berries and maple syrup or for dinner with parmesan or nuts.
1Bring 1 cup of rinsed rice and 3 cups of salted water (or 3 cups of stock) to a boil. Reduce to a lively simmer for 50-60 minutes until the grains have begun to curl.
2You are allowed to peek and taste. For softer rice add more water and simmer longer. If you have extra water, simply strain.
3For a wild rice breakfast, garnish cooked rice with berries, nuts and maple syrup or honey. For lunch or dinner wild rice, cook with broth and garnish with green onions, parmesan, nuts, or herbs. Mix cooked wild rice with any cooked Untamed Feast Wild Mushrooms.
